One of my favourite UK semiconductor start-ups (and now very much a scale-up), flexible integrated circuit manufacturer Pragmatic Semiconductor, has just made its third exec-level appointment in eight months, with the announcement that former NXP Semiconductors SVP, John Quigley, has joined as EVP of Engineering, with responsibility for Technology Development, IC Design and Applications Engineering.
A few months ago, Pragmatic appointed multi-disciplinary financial and operations executive, Steve McCue, as Chief Financial Officer, and in December 2024, semiconductor and technology industry veteran, James Davey, joined as SVP Sales, Business Development & Product Management.
Just to jog your memories, Pragmatic, which was cofounded in 2010 by electronics and telecoms industry entrepreneur, Scott White, brought in seasoned tech executive, David Moore, as CEO in 2023. White remains an executive director, with cofounder and former COO, Richard Price as CTO.
Pragmatic has so far raised well over £300m in venture backing, the last being a massive £162m Series D round announced in December 2023.
Well, it looks to me that Pragmatic have just completed the top team line-up they’d need if the were going for an IPO.
But what do I know?
